About Jerry Parker (me)

I'm Jerry Parker. Engineer, Programmer, Business Manager, Husband, Father, Geek.

Not just your run-of-the-mill geek either. I’m a certifiable, gotta have the latest thing, pissin’ my wife off cause I spend too much money on it, uber geek. Ask my friends, or especially my family, they’ll tell you. Oh boy.

We’re talking about a guy who builds robots for fun.

Since the late ’70s, I’ve been hooked on technologies, as they come and go. Computers, computer kits (SIM 1’s - anybody remember those?), mechanical gadgets, Heathkit, ttl and cmos chips, LED’s, PDA’s, Cellular, Radio, digital anything, Roomba’s, well you get the idea. I’ve seen cool stuff come and go, from fads like Furby’s to things that should never have come out (Like the TI 89C), to things that evolve (Kaypro/CPm to Dell MPS/Vista) and all things in between. I witnessed IBM PC’s (before hard drives) and their clones like Stearns (yes, the life preserver company), and the APPLE I and it’s clones (Franklin), raised floor Computer systems like IBM system 34’s and 36’s, (back in the day when your electric bill came on Punched Cards) to PRIME COMPUTERS which took hundreds of square feet of real-estate and couldn’t keep up with a simple PC.
